About The Position

The Department of Neurology at The University of Texas Dell Medical School (DMS), in conjunction with the UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences at Dell Children’s, is recruiting a third physician for our pediatric rehabilitation medicine (PRM) team and Pediatric Rehabilitation Center. We seek an individual with excellent clinical skills, a passion for education, and the potential for scholarly contributions. The Dell Medical School is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to excellence within the learning health system. The UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences at Dell Children’s is a multidisciplinary program that encompasses child neurology, pediatric rehabilitation medicine (PRM), pediatric neurosurgery, pediatric neuropsychology, and pediatric neuro-ophthalmology. With two board-certified pediatric physiatrists, four experienced nurse practitioners, a lead programmatic therapist, a program coordinator, and a full complement of support staff, the Pediatric Rehabilitation Center offers comprehensive and multidisciplinary care for children with disabilities. The hospital supports an inpatient rehabilitation program, and outpatient space is available in the adjoining 44,000 square foot neurosciences clinic within the Dell Children’s Specialty Pavilion. The pediatric neurosciences program currently hosts a child neurology residency along with fellowships in pediatric epilepsy, pediatric headache, and pediatric neuropsychology. General PM&R residents train in the pediatric program, and we plan to add fellowships in pediatric rehabilitation medicine (PRM) and rehabilitation and pediatric neuromuscular disease. Dell Children’s Medical Center is a 300-bed freestanding facility that features a level 1 pediatric trauma center, a level 4 neonatal intensive care unit, a level 4 epilepsy center, and Magnet recognition for nursing excellence.
