About The Position

Sanford Health is currently seeking a BC/BE Pediatrician to join the region's largest team of board certified, fellowship-trained pediatricians and pediatric specialists at its Thief River Falls, Minnesota clinic. This is a full-time clinic practice with 16-20 patients a day, including hospital call, rounding, and newborn nursery. The position involves shared 1:5 call with Family Medicine providers. The medical center is a spacious, modern 65,000 square foot facility offering over 30 specialty services and a brand new, $60 million, critical care access hospital. Thief River Falls serves as a regional health center to a mostly rural population of 75,000, with over 600 Sanford Health employees and 36 physicians working within the community.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of a hospital affiliated residency Pediatric program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/sub-specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • Applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
  • Demonstrate at least 50 pediatric patients in the last 12 months.
  • More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the ACGME, AOA, or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy.
  • Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement. Responsibilities

  • Admit (if applicable to setting), evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients from birth to young adulthood (21 years of age) concerning their physical, emotional, and social health.
  • Treat acute and chronic disease, including major complicated illnesses.
  • Provide care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with unit policies.
  • Assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.
