About The Position

Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population. Provides direct patient care in outpatient and urgent care settings. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions. Refers patients to specialists and coordinates care with outside specialists as appropriate. Orders laboratory tests, x-rays, special imaging studies and other diagnostic procedures. Interprets appropriate diagnostic procedures and tests. Explain the necessity of preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of procedures to patient and patient’s family. Evaluates and revises patient care/treatment plan with patient and family as necessary to achieve improved health. Provides education for patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues and use of the prescribed medical treatment. Provide accurate documentation of patient care, orders, directives, procedures and patient responses in the medical record and communicates them to other members of the health care team; maintain accurate, legible and confidential records. Work as a team member with medical/nursing staff to provide comprehensive care and promote continuity of care. Bill for clinical services. Actively participate in the advancement of a Medical Home. Incorporates the Medical Home Standards into practice: Relationship, Continuity of Care, Comprehensiveness of Care, Accessibility and Quality. Participates in clinic committees as requested. Attends meetings and in-services of the medical staff or as specified by the Medical Director. Ensures communication within the department as well as across departments to ensure that information is shared for effective operations. Maintain professional knowledge, skills and refine expertise by attending continuing education programs; maintain certification in compliance with current state law; participate in professional affiliations. May manage the daily operations of a specific medical clinic. Active participant in quality improvement and peer review. Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards. Participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs. Ensures strict confidentiality of records. Contributes to team efforts and accomplishes related results as required. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of Medical School with MD or DO degree
  • At least three years of directly related experience which may include residency in Pediatrics
  • Unrestricted State of Wisconsin License and Federal DEA Certification
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics
  • Ability to lead a team and direct team-based care
  • Continuing education and knowledge of up-to-date pediatric practice recommendations
  • Experience in working across cultures and with diverse populations
  • Commitment to comprehensive care and family centered practice
  • FCP complies with all CDC vaccine and testing recommendations for healthcare professionals.
  • Proof of immunizations is required and immunizations/testing provided upon hire.
  • CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
