About The Position

The Pain Management Physician is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with acute and chronic pain conditions. This role involves developing individualized, evidence-based care plans utilizing interventional, pharmacologic, and non-pharmacologic therapies. The physician collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes, improve function, and enhance quality of life.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Completion of accredited residency (e.g., Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurology)
  • Fellowship training in Pain Medicine required
  • Must be licensed by the Louisiana State board of Medical Examiners
  • Board Certification or Eligible for Board Certification
  • DEA registration and eligibility to prescribe controlled substances
  • Epic experience a plus
  • Expertise in interventional pain procedures
  • Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
  • Knowledge of opioid stewardship and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
