About The Position

Join a well-established Level 1 orthopedic trauma program within a large, collaborative multi-specialty group. This practice includes 16 orthopedic surgeons and 11 NP/PAs, with sub-specialties covering trauma, hand, adult reconstructive, shoulder and elbow, foot and ankle, pediatric orthopedics, ortho oncology, medical orthopedics/sports medicine, and podiatry. The role features a dedicated orthopedic trauma room with surgical blocks for outpatient cases, and dedicated trauma APPs to manage consults and floor work. Medical orthopedics will handle most non-operative fractures. Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center is northern Minnesota’s largest hospital (344 beds) and a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. The position utilizes a dedicated EMR/EPIC system and is supported by a comprehensive rehabilitation program, serving a population of approximately 500,000.

Responsibilities

Provide orthopedic trauma surgery services.
Participate in a dedicated orthopedic trauma room with surgical blocks for outpatient cases.
Collaborate with a team of orthopedic surgeons and NP/PAs.
Manage trauma consults and floor work, potentially with support from dedicated trauma APPs.
Work within a Level 1 trauma center environment.
