About The Position

CAN Community Health is now hiring a Physician. Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift | Monday-Thursday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Friday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. We are looking for someone who is passionate about serving the needs of individuals impacted by HIV, Hepatitis C, STI's, and other infectious diseases. Requirements

  • Medical Degree from an accredited Medical School and Residency Training Program
  • Current Medical license (Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy) in the state or states of practice
  • Board Certified/ Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Infectious Disease
  • AAHIVM certification if not an infectious disease specialist
  • DEA certification
  • Substantial experience in HIV primary care, minimum of 3 years.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have valid insurance and driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a Level I and Level II Background check as required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in sexually transmitted infection screening, treatment, and education, preferred within a harm reduction model of care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality comprehensive care and treatment to new and established patients for CAN Community Health, Inc.
  • Educates patients on wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patients and families.
  • Determines which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs.
  • Determines level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments.
  • Exercises final medical judgment in all issues of health care.
  • Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients.
  • Orders studies, test and ancillary services.
  • Documents all services in patient medical record, Greenway/EHS, in a timely manner.
  • Reviews on a regular basis long term cases that require ongoing medical attention.
  • Consults with Medical Director and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues.
