The Physician Operations & Provider Support Coordinator provides operational, scheduling, credentialing, and physician support services to ensure efficient coordination of radiology workflows, critical communications, and provider relations. This role serves as a central point of coordination between physicians, hospitals, clinic staff, patients, and internal departments while maintaining accurate documentation, supporting compliance processes, and ensuring timely follow-up on operational and administrative matters. This position plays a key role in supporting radiologists and hospital partners by coordinating schedules, maintaining provider information, facilitating communication regarding reports and addendums, and helping ensure operational continuity across multiple facilities and departments.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Medinformatix, PowerScribe, Microsoft Office Suite, and administrative software systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, hospitals, clinics, and internal teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in healthcare administration, business operations, or provider relations preferred.
  • Experience supporting physicians, healthcare operations, credentialing, scheduling, or provider relations preferred.
  • Knowledge of radiology workflows and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review reports and verify provider and referral information prior to communication of patient results.
  • Document physician and clinic communications accurately within internal systems and patient records.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies related to referrals, reports, addendums, scheduling, and billing reconciliation.
  • Coordinate biopsy result follow-up processes, including provider outreach and documentation tracking.
  • Process and assign medical, billing, and biopsy addendums through PowerScribe while monitoring completion status and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Maintain and track outstanding addendums and follow up with physicians, clinic staff, and departments as needed.
  • Assist with physician scheduling distribution and maintain accurate on-call schedules, hospital contact lists, and provider coverage information.
  • Communicate scheduling updates and coordinate changes with hospitals, radiology departments, physicians, and administrative teams.
  • Coordinate physician candidate interviews, including scheduling, travel arrangements, itineraries, reimbursements, and related logistics.
  • Support physician recruiting initiatives, presentations, outreach efforts, onboarding activities, and special projects.
  • Assist with physician licensing and credentialing by compiling documentation, processing applications, tracking expirations, and coordinating follow-up with physicians, HR, hospitals, and licensing agencies.
  • Maintain confidential physician, patient, credentialing, and operational information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
  • Support operational improvement initiatives and assist leadership with administrative and workflow-related projects.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to physicians, leadership, and hospital partners as assigned.
