About The Position

This is a locum tenens position for a Physician specializing in Oncology, providing inpatient care in Richmond, Indiana. The role involves managing medical oncology patients, including rounding and participating in call rotations. The provider will also travel to outreach clinic locations in Winchester and Hagerstown. Coverage is needed from September 1, 2026, ongoing, with a requirement for 3-4 weeks of coverage per month. The facility is a 220+ bed Level III Trauma Center with full multispecialty support and available Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), Nursing Staff, and Ancillary Support. The EMR system used is Epic.

Requirements

Active Indiana Medical License or IMLC.
Board Certified or Board Eligible (Board certification required within 5 years of residency).
Active DEA (if applicable).
BLS Required.
ACLS Required only if requesting conscious sedation privileges.
Oncology experience.
Case logs required for credentialing.
Flu vaccination required (or approved medical/religious exemption).
COVID-19 vaccination required (or approved medical/religious exemption).

Nice To Haves

Provider must be able to provide 3+ weeks (preferably 4 weeks) coverage in a month.

Responsibilities

Provide inpatient oncology care.
Evaluate and manage oncology patients during scheduled clinical hours.
Participate in night and weekend telephone call rotation.
Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers and provide physician support as needed.
Travel to outreach clinic locations in Winchester and Hagerstown for scheduled coverage.
Order entry within the Vemsta platform.
Enter work hours in the Vemsta platform.
Complete order entry as the locum provider.
