About The Position

The West Virginia University Health System, the state’s largest health system and largest private employer, comprises 18 hospitals throughout the state and bordering states. In addition, it includes five institutes, as well as providing management services for other local hospitals through affiliate agreements. WVUHS Medical Group seeks an OBGYN Laborist Physician. The successful candidate/candidates will be expected to practice in north region of WVU Medicine. The successful candidate will practice in the area of Obstetrics and Gynecology as a Laborist. Whether you need a preventive exam, specialized gynecologic treatment or obstetric services, our providers offer the latest innovative advances in obstetric and gynecologic care. This group functions as a ‘Regional Team’ and the successful candidate could be expected to practice at all locations as needed: Wheeling Hospital, Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Wetzel County Hospital, Barnesville Hospital, Harrison Community Hospital and all associated North Region Ambulatory clinics. The WVU Health System Medical Group (SMG) formed in 2021 and has since grown to 900 physicians and advanced practice providers. Caregivers affiliated with the group practice in all 25 WVU Medicine hospitals and clinics. The group’s physicians serve in a variety of specialties and subspecialties – from primary care to advanced specialty care – and work in tandem with the WVU faculty practice plan.

Requirements

Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain state medical license.
Applicants must have completed an OB/Gyn Residency program.
Applicants must be board certified or eligible in Obstetrics/Gynecology.
All qualifications must be met at the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

Practice in the area of Obstetrics and Gynecology as a Laborist.
Practice in north region of WVU Medicine.
Could be expected to practice at all locations as needed: Wheeling Hospital, Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Wetzel County Hospital, Barnesville Hospital, Harrison Community Hospital and all associated North Region Ambulatory clinics.
