About The Position
This is a locum physician position for an OB/GYN. The role involves providing on-call coverage in the ER/GYN and Labor & Delivery departments at the hospital. The case load is primarily gynecology (40%-50%), involving 1-4 surgeries per day, and obstetrics (15%-35%), including cesarean deliveries. The position also involves managing newborn admissions (average 2-5 daily, with a census of 3-4 newborns) and occasional pediatric cases. The nursery has a capacity of 12 beds for normal newborns, with no Special Care Nursery available. The EMR system used is EPIC.
Requirements
- Proficiency in performing cesarean sections and all OB/GYN-related surgeries, including scheduled dilation and curettage (D&C).
- Ability to handle 24-hour call shifts from 8 AM to 8 AM, including callbacks.
- Board Certified (mandatory).
- Active Ohio medical license (mandatory).
- NRP and ACLS certification required.
- COVID vaccination preferred.
- Flu vaccination mandatory.
- A self-query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform 1-4 gynecological surgeries per day.
- Be involved in cesarean deliveries.
- Manage an average of 2-5 newborn admissions daily.
- Maintain a daily census of 3-4 newborns.
- Provide on-call coverage in the ER/GYN and Labor & Delivery departments.
