About The Position

Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) is seeking a full-time OB/GYN Hospitalist to join a growing and collaborative Women’s Health team at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) in San Francisco. Our hospitalists provide full-scope obstetric care in a high-acuity environment supported by a Level 3+ NICU, with in-house neonatology, anesthesiology, maternal-fetal medicine, and midwifery support. You will work closely with SWBMG generalist OB/GYN physicians, certified nurse midwives, and hospital-based colleagues in a team-oriented model focused on safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. This is a full-time opportunity designed for physicians who value a flexible hospital-based practice. The schedule includes 120 annual 12-hour shifts, which may be completed through a combination of 12-hour and 24-hour shifts. Scheduling is aligned with program needs and physician availability. There is one clinic day per week. In-house multidisciplinary support is available throughout hospital shifts. The role utilizes a fully integrated Epic EMR across clinic and hospital settings.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABOG)
  • Eligible for California medical licensure
  • Strong clinical judgment and comfort managing a broad range of obstetric presentations
  • Patient-centered, team-oriented approach
  • Comfortable practicing in close collaboration with midwives and multidisciplinary hospital teams

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-scope inpatient obstetric care, including evaluation, labor management, delivery, and postpartum care
  • Manage obstetric triage and acute obstetric presentations
  • Perform vaginal and cesarean deliveries and manage obstetric emergencies
  • Collaborate closely with SWBMG OB/GYN physicians, certified nurse midwives, maternal-fetal medicine, anesthesiology, neonatology, and nursing teams
  • Provide consultation and support for complex or high-risk obstetric patients
  • Participate in one outpatient clinic day per week
  • Support quality, safety, and clinical improvement initiatives within Women’s Health
  • Contribute to a collegial, team-based environment focused on high-quality, patient-centered care
