About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a neurologist to provide medical care to patients in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and the surrounding area. The role requires an M.D. or equivalent foreign medical degree, completion of a Neurology residency, and completion of a Neuroimmunology fellowship. The physician must be licensed or eligible for licensure in South Dakota and be board certified or board eligible. H-1B and J-1 visas are accepted.

Applicants must demonstrate clinical activity appropriate to the privileges requested. Recent residency graduates may provide residency logs and a list of completed rotations. Other applicants must provide a quality profile documenting clinical activity over the last 12 months, including procedures and relevant outcomes, and demonstrate active involvement with at least 50 patients through inpatient services or clinical practice. Neurology residency accreditation, board certification eligibility, and other credentialing requirements apply. Privileging documents and credentialing requirements take precedence if they differ from this job description.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree; an equivalent foreign medical degree is also referenced in the job description.
• Completion of a medical residency program in Neurology.
• Completion of a medical fellowship program in Neuroimmunology.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in South Dakota.
• Board certified or board eligible in the primary area of practice.
• Neurology residency completed through a program accredited by the ACGME, AOA, or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, unless eligibility is approved through the credentialing waiver process.
• Applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience appropriate to the requested privileges: residency logs and completed rotations for recent residency graduates, or a quality profile or clinic activity documentation for other applicants.
• Demonstrate active involvement with at least 50 patients during the last 12 months.
• Applicants completing residency within the last five years who are not board certified must achieve certification within five years of residency completion unless the relevant board waives the requirement.
