About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This is a traditional outpatient practice with hospital consults, part of an established and busy practice. The practice is predominantly adult-focused and benefits from a large referral base. The team includes an EMG/EEG technician and a registered nurse. The facility is an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital, with Tele-Stroke services provided from Fargo Medical Center. The service population is 142,000, supported by a 118-bed hospital with a 14-bed ICU and a Level III trauma center designation.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of a Neurology residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • Applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
  • Demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services to be at least 50 patients in the last 12 months.
  • Demonstrate active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months.

Nice To Haves

  • Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than ACGME, AOA or Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process.
  • More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examination.
  • Admit patients (if applicable to the setting).
  • Provide consultative services.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and provide nonsurgical care to patients of all ages presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the neurologic system.

Benefits

  • Compensation floor of $450,000 for the first two years of the employment contract, plus estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs.
  • $100,000 retention incentive to be paid if you remain a 1.0 FTE for 3 years (subject to a contractual agreement specifying all details).
