About The Position

West Virginia University School of Medicine, the Department of Surgery, and the WVU Medicine Center for Organ Transplantation seek a Multiorgan Transplant Surgeon. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. The WVU Medicine Center for Organ Transplantation is home to West Virginia’s first and only multi-organ transplant center. The Center provides specialized, life-saving transplant care to patients throughout West Virginia and the surrounding region. Requirements

• MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
• Eligible for state medical license
• Completed a general surgery residency program
• Completed an abdominal transplant fellowship program
• Board certified / eligible
• All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment

Responsibilities

• Practice in the areas of multiorgan transplant surgery
• Perform deceased donor liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation, and organ procurement
• Participate in living donor liver and kidney transplantation
• Provide pre- and post-operative care
• Evaluate candidates and donors in clinic
• Take part in a shared transplant call schedule
• Actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
