About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This role involves Medical Oncology Core Privileges, including the ability to admit (if applicable to the setting), evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients adolescence to adult with all types of cancer and other benign and malignant tumors. The practice is outpatient with hospital consults and offers exceptional work/life balance. The new Cancer Center serves a population of 142,000 and is part of an 118-bed hospital with a 14-bed ICU. Sub-specialty support is available from Sanford Fargo, and there is a collaborative relationship with the oncology team at Roger Maris Cancer Center, Fargo. Hybrid options may be considered.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Internal Medicine residency program.
• Completion of a Hematology or Oncology fellowship or integrated Hematology and Medical Oncology Program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
• Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
• Applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their fellowship training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
• Experience can be demonstrated by: fellowship log (for recent graduates), quality profile from hospital(s) showing clinical activity for the last 12 months (including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications) with active involvement of inpatient services for at least 50 patients in the last 12 months, or documentation of clinic activity for the last 12 months with active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months if a quality profile is not available.

Nice To Haves

• Training at residency and fellowship programs accredited by organizations other than ACGME, AOA, or Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada, may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy.
• More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.

Benefits

• Compensation floor of $700,000 for the first two years of the employment contract, plus estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs.
• $200,000 retention incentive to be paid if you remain a 1.0 FTE for 4 years (subject to a contractual agreement specifying all details).
