About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Hematology/Oncology physician to join an established Cancer Center & Research Program at Marshfield Medical Center – Marshfield in Marshfield, Wisconsin. The practice is integrated with regular provider meetings, physician advisory boards, and tumor boards, offering extensive research opportunities and about 10% outreach. The role involves a full range oncology practice including outpatient infusion, inpatient capabilities, multidisciplinary tumor boards, and teaching opportunities. There is strong support for research and clinical trials with dedicated staff, and physicians are supported by APPs. Radiation Oncology, Pathology, and Radiology support are available onsite. The organization emphasizes a supportive work/life balance.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. degree.
Successful completion of a hospital-affiliated Internal Medicine residency program.
Completion of a Hematology or Oncology fellowship or integrated Hematology and Medical Oncology Program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
Applicants not board certified at the time of application but who have completed fellowship training within the last five years must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless waived.
Demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services for at least 50 patients in the last 12 months OR demonstrate active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months.
If not applying directly out of fellowship, provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where currently has privileges showing clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.

Nice To Haves

Training at residency and fellowship programs accredited by organizations other than ACGME, AOA, or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process.
Applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their fellowship training within the last five years are eligible, but must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.

Responsibilities

Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients adolescence to adult with all types of cancer and other benign and malignant tumors.
Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards.
Engage in teaching opportunities.
Conduct outreach activities (approximately 10%).
Support clinical trials and research initiatives.
