About The Position

Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) and its satellite health centers are the leading providers of primary health care services in the communities we serve, including individuals who are both insured and uninsured. ICCHC provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive health care services, including medical care. Our medical department provides a full array of medical care including, but not limited to women’s health exams, men’s health exams, diabetes care, high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, chronic conditions, laboratory services, physical examinations, and referrals for specialty care. ICCHC is currently seeking a full-time and part-time Staff Physician for its Youngsville location.

Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an approved and accredited Medical School.
• Must be licensed to practice Medicine in the State of Louisiana.
• Must possess a Medical School diploma.
• Must possess Board Certification Notification and/or Board Eligible.
• Must possess Federal and State DEA Certificates.
• Candidate should be able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual patient care appropriate to the age of patients served by demonstrative knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
• Must be able to provide primary care services to all patients.

• Community health center and management experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Performs medical care to our adult patient population.
• Responsible for the care of own patients.
• Renders safe, quality care to patients.
• Prescribes medications.
• Assists in supervision of medical support staff.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates individual patient care appropriate to the age of patients served by demonstrative knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
• Performs primary care services (e.g., Minor surgery, Suturing, Fine Needle Aspirations, Review of x-rays, Casting/Splinting, General evaluations, General GYN Expertise, Emergency management skills - use of defibrillator on site, etc.).
