Sanford Health is seeking board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine physicians to join its growing clinic-based group in Fargo, North Dakota. With full-time hospitalists available at Sanford–Fargo, internists can focus on clinic practice. The group works in provider teams, each consisting of a physician, an advanced practice provider (APP), and a primary nurse. APPs regularly round on nursing-home patients, with physician visits once a month. Clinic-based internists may choose to provide six weeks of hospital coverage per year. Telephone call is rotated among department members and averages approximately one to two weeknights per month and one weekend every three months. Internal Medicine core privileges include performing history and physical examinations; admitting patients when applicable to the setting; and evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and providing consultative services to adolescent and adult patients with common and complex illnesses, diseases, and functional disorders affecting the circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, gastroenteric, and genitourinary systems. Sanford Health is described as the largest rural health system in the United States. In Fargo, it has three medical center campuses in the Fargo–Moorhead area. Its one-million-square-foot medical center opened in 2017 and has 302 beds; the center is a Level I Adult Trauma Center supported by AirMed services covering a three-state area. The Fargo–Moorhead and West Fargo metro area has 216,000 residents and offers schools, business and cultural activities, recreation, and a relatively low cost of living. Sanford Health offers a nationally competitive compensation plan and a physician benefits package. H1B visas are accepted.
