About The Position

Sanford Clinic Watertown is seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine Physician to join their multi-specialty group. The role involves providing comprehensive care to adolescent and adult patients with a wide range of illnesses and disorders. The clinic is well-equipped with various diagnostic and therapeutic services, and offers a supportive environment with health coaches, integrated health therapists, and clinical pharmacists on-site. There is also an opportunity for nursing home rounding in the community.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. degree.
Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
Applicants not board certified at the time of application but who have completed residency within the last five years must achieve board certification within five years from the date of residency completion unless waived.
Demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services to be at least 50 patients in the last 12 months (if not applying directly out of residency).
Demonstrate active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months (if a quality profile is not available from the hospital).

Nice To Haves

Residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations (for applicants just completing residency).
Quality profile from hospital(s) where currently has privileges showing clinical activity for the last 12 months, including number of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications (for applicants not applying directly out of residency).

Responsibilities

Perform history and physical examinations.
Admit patients (if applicable to the setting).
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with common and complex illnesses, diseases, and functional disorders of the circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, gastroenteric, and genitourinary systems.
Provide consultative services to patients.
Participate in clinic procedures if interested.
Round on patients in nursing homes in the community.
