About The Position
Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group is seeking a Physician, Internal Medicine in San Jose, California. The physician will work in a team-based care model, with nurse practitioners and physician assistants supporting the needs of paneled patients, and a virtual team assisting with the inbasket. The role offers collaborative relationships with specialists across the organization, a robust onboarding and mentorship program, and opportunities to participate in leadership, committees, and quality-improvement projects. The schedule is flexible, with full-time work structured as four days per week; part-time opportunities and flexible patient-visit durations are also available. Remote video visits from home are available. Physician call is described as light and virtual, with calls initially screened by an RN, NP, and PAs. Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group is a large multispecialty medical group with more than 1,700 physicians across 40+ specialties and practices throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. It is affiliated with the not-for-profit Palo Alto Medical Foundation, which provides operational and administrative support, including technology. Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in a team-based model with support from NPs and PAs for paneled patient needs.
- Work with the virtual inbasket support team.
- Collaborate with specialists across the organization.
- Participate in physician call, which is virtual and initially screened by an RN, NP, and PAs.
- Engage in leadership and committee opportunities and quality-improvement projects.

- Starting salary of $280,000–$315,000, based on experience.
