Physician (Infectious Disease)
About The Position
Hartford HealthCare Medical Group, Inc. seeks a full-time Infectious Disease Physician to provide assessment, treatment, and management of care for adult patients with infectious diseases. The role involves participating in medical education, community benefit programs, or other requested activities. The physician will also assist in educating and training support staff and ensure timely completion of medical charting and billing activities. The primary work location is The William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, CT, with potential work at Windham Hospital in Willimantic, CT, and the Medical Group's office in Norwich, CT, depending on patient and staffing needs.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), or the foreign equivalent
- Completion of a U.S. medical residency program in Internal Medicine
- Completion of a U.S. medical fellowship program in Infectious Disease
- Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine
- Board certification or board eligibility in Infectious Disease
- Possession of or eligibility for an unrestricted Connecticut medical license
Responsibilities
- Provide assessment, treatment and management of care for adult patients with infectious diseases
- Participates in medical education or community benefit programs or other activities as may be requested
- Assist in educating and training support staff in the provision of efficient and effective infectious disease services
- Timely complete medical charting and billing activities for provided services
