About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking an Infectious Disease Physician to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. This role involves providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient HIV and infectious disease care within a high-volume academic medical setting. The physician will perform patient evaluations, develop treatment plans, diagnose and manage infectious conditions, and interpret diagnostic tests. The position also includes collaborating with other infectious disease specialists and multidisciplinary teams, educating and supervising trainees, and supporting the academic mission through teaching. The role requires maintaining continuity of care through flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, and sharing clinical responsibilities with other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted New York State medical license.
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Disease.
  • Must meet the qualifications of an HIV Specialist as defined by the NYSDOH AIDS Institute.
  • Current DEA registration, Controlled Substances licensure, and BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire).

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient HIV and infectious disease care, including services at Jacobi’s designated AIDS/ID Center.
  • Perform thorough patient evaluations, physical examinations, and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic infectious conditions in a high-volume academic medical setting.
  • Order, interpret, and integrate diagnostic and therapeutic testing to guide clinical decision-making.
  • Prescribe and manage appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment regimens.
  • Collaborate with seven Infectious Disease Attendings and multidisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Educate, mentor, and supervise Advanced Practice Providers, Residents, and Medical Students.
  • Support the academic mission through teaching and clinical instruction as part of an Albert Einstein College of Medicine appointment.
  • Maintain continuity of care through flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Share clinical responsibilities with Attending Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners.

Benefits

  • Annual Base Salary: $246,000 (Board Eligible); $251,000 (Board Certified) based on 40-hour work week.
  • Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
