Physician, Hospitalist/Nocturnist (Jackson, CA)
About The Position
Sutter Medical Group (SMG) seeks to hire Hospitalists to join their established Hospitalist Program in Jackson, CA. This program offers a flexible schedule with 13 shifts per month, including 12-hour day shifts (averaging 11-14 patients) and 12-hour night shifts (averaging 2-6 admits). Differentials are provided for night shifts. The program structure includes ICU coverage for a 6-bed unit and vent management. Schedules are made 3 months in advance, with physicians working a mix of rounding and night admit shifts. Generally, physicians have 2 weekends off each month. Rounding is scheduled in 5-7 day blocks, which can be adjusted. The role offers advanced practice technology, including EPIC, and promotes a positive work-life balance in Northern California.
Requirements
- Board Certified/Eligible in Hospital Medicine by ABIM
- Strong commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
- Excellent communication and team-based practice skills
- Valid California medical license required prior to start
- Federal unrestricted DEA
Responsibilities
- Provide hospitalist coverage, including rounding and night admit shifts.
- Manage patients in a 6-bed ICU.
- Perform vent management.
- Collaborate with a team-based practice.
- Engage in teaching, research, leadership, community outreach, and volunteer work (as part of SMG's clinician engagement).
