About The Position

City of Hope Orange County is seeking a Genitourinary (GU) Medical Oncologist to join their high-level oncology practice. This role involves providing multidisciplinary care for patients with GU malignancies, including clinical trial enrollment, mentorship of junior faculty, and contributions to research and scholarly activities. The position supports the growth of the Genitourinary Cancer Program, focusing on prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular, and other GU malignancies, as well as Early Therapeutics/Phase I clinical research. The physician will collaborate closely with Urology, Radiation Oncology, and other multidisciplinary teams to advance integrated care models, clinical program development, and research initiatives across Orange County. Primary clinical responsibilities will focus on the care of patients with genitourinary cancers within state-of-the-art facilities, including a 73-bed hospital with 4 operating room suites and an 8-bed ICU.

Requirements

  • Expertise in genitourinary oncology, with demonstrated excellence in the care of patients with prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular, and other GU malignancies
  • Academic physician at the late Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, research, and program growth
  • 3–5+ years of GU oncology experience, with a track record of growing a clinical practice and participating in disease-focused clinical and research initiatives.
  • Proven ability to mentor physicians, APPs, and trainees, and to contribute to clinical research, scholarly activities, and program development
  • Leadership experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including Urology, Radiation Oncology, Pathology, Radiology, and Supportive Care, to advance a comprehensive GU Cancer Program
  • Demonstrated success in expanding clinical services, enhancing patient access to innovative therapies and clinical trials, and delivering coordinated, high-quality cancer care
  • Eligible to obtain or currently hold an active CA medical license
  • ABIM/Medical Oncology Board Certified/Eligible status
