About The Position

The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) has prioritized geriatric behavioral health as a key organizational mission area. Our Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry is seeking an additional Geriatric Psychiatrist to practice in Morgantown, WV. The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute guides a team of 280 dedicated faculty in providing compassionate patient care and advanced medicine through education, research, and outreach in the many diverse communities we serve. The Institute spearheads efforts to develop innovative solutions for neurological and psychiatric conditions ranging from Alzheimer’s to Parkinson’s; autism to stroke; and paralysis to chronic pain, addictions, and traumatic brain injury. The WVU RNI Memory Health Clinic is the only multi-disciplinary specialty clinic in the state of West Virginia that offers comprehensive, individualized diagnosis and treatment for dementia, while providing support for caregivers. The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia’s largest health system and the state’s largest employer. The System has undergone significant expansion in specialty and sub-specialty care in areas such as cancer, heart and vascular, and neuroscience, among many others. The Health System operates West Virginia’s first and only multi-organ transplant center, and opened a new, 150-bed Children’s Hospital in September 2022. Morgantown is consistently rated as one of the best small metropolitan areas in the country for both lifestyle and business climate. Requirements

  • MD or DO degree or international equivalent.
  • Eligible for state medical licensure.
  • Completed a psychiatry residency program.
  • Completed a geriatric psychiatry fellowship.
  • Board certified in psychiatry.
  • Board certified in geriatric psychiatry.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Practice in the area of geriatric psychiatry.
  • Provide excellent patient care.
  • Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
