About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE fellowship-trained Gastroenterologist to join their outpatient Gastroenterology practice in Marquette, MI. This is an outpatient-only role with no evening, weekend, or holiday call, offering an excellent work-life balance. The position is supported by a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider. The practice is described as flourishing and turn-key ready, with flexibility for up to 80% of the practice to be procedure-based if desired. Physicians are encouraged to be involved in medical education and research.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. degree.
Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency program.
Completion of a fellowship in Gastroenterology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
Applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their fellowship training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
Demonstrate active involvement in 50 gastroenterology cases in the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

Perform history and physical examinations.
Admit patients (if applicable to the setting).
Provide consultative services.
Evaluate, diagnose, and provide nonsurgical care to adolescent and adult patients presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the stomach, intestines, and related structures, such as the esophagus, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas, including biopsies.
