About The Position
This is a locum physician position specializing in Gastroenterology. The role involves providing daily outpatient and inpatient scope coverage, as well as consultations, within a hospital setting. The physician will work alongside other medical professionals and have access to onsite laboratory and X-ray services. The position utilizes the Cerner Electronic Medical Record system.
Requirements
- Board Certification is mandatory; Board Eligible candidates will be considered.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
- Active Michigan license and Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) are mandatory upon submission.
- Prior experience is mandatory (Completion of Fellowship with at least 2-3 years in practice).
- COVID Vaccination is required.
- Clean background check with no actions; minimal malpractice history is acceptable.
- National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) self-query copy required at presentation, pulled within the last 30 days.
- Verbal confirmation of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) needed; to be confirmed upon name clear.
Nice To Haves
- Preference for candidates who can drive in (local candidates).
Responsibilities
- Provide endoscopy coverage and consultations from 7 AM – 4:30 PM.
- Manage 18 outpatients and 20 inpatient scopes daily.
- Provide 24-hour coverage on weekends.
- No weekday night shifts.
