The physician is responsible for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the health problems presented by the patients. This role involves developing and cultivating positive and productive working relationships, promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and collaboration. The physician will demonstrate a commitment to distinctive, personalized care for both internal and external customers, assist in meeting operational and financial goals, and ensure timely completion of competencies. The role requires assessing and monitoring patient medical needs, providing quality medical services in a cost-effective manner, and ensuring coverage of caseload at all times. Regular communication with patients' families, referring physicians, specialists, and hospital staff regarding the plan of care is essential. Documentation of medical services must be consistent with hospital, payor, and regulatory standards. Participation in on-call, weekend coverage, value-based reimbursement programs, quality initiatives, QI/QA, and peer review activities is required. The physician will also assist in policy development related to medical practice and quality patient care, support patient participation in clinical trials, and provide oversight, teaching, and mentorship to fellows, residents, APPs, and students.
