About The Position

ProMedica Physicians Group (PPG) is seeking a Family Medicine Physician to join our Monroe Family Medicine Residency program as faculty in Monroe, MI. This is a full-time position with a Monday – Friday schedule and occasional weekend support. The role involves 8-12 hours per week of residency administrative time, 12 hours per week of direct patient care, and the remaining hours dedicated to residency supervision of clinical time. There is a limited back-up call requirement for residents (outpatient only), rotating 1 out of every 8 weeks. The program is supported by full front office staff, including MAs, a Quality Nurse, and two residency coordinators. An onsite PsyD is available for patient evaluations and management within the office. Opportunities exist to support other ancillary service lines such as inpatient medicine, addiction medicine, geriatric care, newborn rounding, osteopathic manipulations, and obstetrics, though these are not required. The ProMedica Monroe Family Medicine Residency is an 8-8-8 program emphasizing broad-spectrum training and offering comprehensive exposure to a wide range of clinical experiences as the only residency within the hospital. Faculty are actively involved in various clinical areas and procedural training, including vasectomies, paracentesis, and colposcopy, along with numerous dermatologic, musculoskeletal, and gynecologic procedures. The program and faculty are also highly involved in the community through initiatives like staffing Faith Works, a free clinic, supporting Special Olympics events, speaking at the senior center, and participating in community health fairs. PPG focuses on preventive care and patient education across a wide range of medical specialties, helping individuals maintain long-term health and manage complex conditions by applying the latest medical knowledge and collaborating closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution in the applicable specialty.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state(s) where care is provided.
  • Board certified or board eligible in the relevant specialty.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) certification(s) applicable to your role (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.).
  • Commitment to ongoing continuing medical education (CME) and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care.
  • Supervise residents in their clinical time.
  • Perform administrative duties for the residency program.
  • Participate in limited back-up call for residents (outpatient only).
  • Support other ancillary service lines if interested (inpatient medicine, addiction medicine, geriatric care, newborn rounding, osteopathic manipulations, obstetrics).
  • Engage in community involvement and health fairs.
