About The Position

The Spartanburg Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program in Spartanburg, South Carolina is a national leader in community family medicine education. We are seeking to add a Family Medicine Faculty Physician to our core faculty. The program is affiliated with both the Medical University of South Carolina and the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine – Carolinas Campus. Highlights of the position include: 12 Family Medicine residents per year, First in the state to receive ACGME Osteopathic Recognition, Balanced outpatient and inpatient settings with approximately 6 inpatient weeks annually, Largest program in the state, Collegial faculty.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain a SC medical license
• Family Medicine board certification
• Love of teaching
• Background of practical experience or faculty development fellowship

Nice To Haves

• Prior academic teaching experience
• POCUS or Sports Medicine training
• Experience with obstetrical care

Responsibilities

• Teach Family Medicine residents in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Provide balanced clinical care in outpatient and inpatient environments.
• Contribute to a collegial faculty environment.
