About The Position

We are looking for someone to join our Orthopedics Team as a Physician Extender! This role involves a variety of clinical, patient care, and clerical responsibilities to support the orthopedic department and ensure efficient patient flow and care.

Requirements

• Degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Physical Therapist Assistant or like allied health degree, from an accredited program.
• Experience in a physician office preferred.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer by the State of Ohio Occupational, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board.

Responsibilities

• Accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam.
• Effectively utilizes the electronic medical records system to check scheduled, complete prior authorizations and organize patient flow.
• Demonstrates acceptable time management techniques; accurate charting; accurately relays instructions to patients/families; answers calls and provides pertinent information.
• Sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/radiology reports, hospital notes referral information.
• Setting up instruments and equipment according to protocols; cleaning exam/procedures rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control.
• Cleaning sanitizer according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records.
• Maintaining office supplies by notifying Practice Manager when items are needed, sorting, storing supplies; and restocking exam/procedure rooms.
