About The Position
We are looking for someone to join our Orthopedics Team as a Physician Extender! This role involves clinical, patient care, clerical, and instrument/equipment management responsibilities to ensure efficient and high-quality patient care within the Orthopedics department.
Requirements
- Degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Physical Therapist Assistant or like allied health degree, from an accredited program and experience in a physician office preferred.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer by the State of Ohio Occupational, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board.

- Experience in a physician office preferred.
Responsibilities
- Accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam.
- Effectively utilizes the electronic medical records system to check scheduled, complete prior authorizations and organize patient flow; demonstrates acceptable time management techniques; accurate charting; accurately relays instructions to patients/families; answers calls and provides pertinent information.
- Sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/radiology reports, hospital notes referral information.
- Responsible for setting up instruments and equipment according to protocols; cleaning exam/procedures rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; cleaning sanitizer according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records; maintains office supplies by notifying Practice Manager when items are needed, sorting, storing supplies; and restocking exam/procedure rooms.
