About The Position

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine Nocturnist to join the team at The William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut. Backus Hospital is a 213-bed acute care community hospital with a 43-bed, Level 3 trauma center that sees more than 55,000 visits. The position offers 10-hour shifts with a two-hour overlap between physicians to support safe patient disposition, documentation, and turnover. The practice model is designed to let physicians focus more time on higher-acuity patients, and the emergency department is described as stable and well tenured, with efficient and responsive hospital administration.

The role includes a generous base salary and market-competitive incentive plan, paid vacation and CME time, and a CME stipend. Requirements

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine.
