About The Position

Allegheny Health Network (AHN) is building the future in its Imaging Institute by adding several services and locations to their network. Abdominal Imaging is recruiting a full-time Director to oversee the Abdominal/Body Division. The Division Director provides essential clinical and administrative leadership for the physicians within the Abdominal/Body Division across AHN Radiology. Appointed by the System Chair, this physician leader is directly accountable to the System Chair for the division's clinical, professional, and administrative matters. This physician leader is responsible for fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment for their group, while actively partnering with regional administrators and department leadership to optimize operational items, ensure outstanding patient care, and align divisional activities with system-wide goals.

Requirements

  • Completion of ACGME approved Radiology Residency
  • Completion of ACGME approved Abdominal/Body Imaging Fellowship
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Radiology
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
  • Participation in Maintenance of Certification or eligibility for such is required
  • For on-site/hybrid positions: Opportunities to participate in the residency and medical student training programs
  • Participation in multidisciplinary conferences
  • Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania prior to employment

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day administrative and professional leadership for the physicians within the Division, including performance management, mentorship, and fostering a cohesive clinical team.
  • Collaborates closely with regional administrators and departmental leadership on operational items, including resource utilization, workflow optimization, and implementing care process improvement plans to enhance efficiency and patient safety within the Division.
  • Works with department leadership on physician workforce planning, including recruitment, retention, and specialty expertise, and supports the development of new initiatives, educational programs, and research within the Division.
  • Monitors and guides divisional performance, ensuring adherence to quality metrics, patient safety standards, and clinical outcomes for the physicians in the group.
  • Accountable for clinical and professional matters within the Division.
  • Partners with departmental, hospital, and system administration to align the Division's clinical and professional goals with broader institutional objectives.
  • Inspires trust, promotes collegial dialogue, and cultivates an environment that values diversity, supports colleagues' professional development and optimal performance.
  • Maintains clinical duties consistent with other physicians in the Division.
