About The Position

Franciscan Physician Network is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Non-Invasive Cardiologist specializing in Heart Failure to join Indiana Heart Physicians, a growing, hospital-owned private-practice group in Indianapolis. The physician will join a collegial, multi-specialty team of cardiologists, cardiac hospitalists, and advanced practice providers. The role has a broad patient mix with a special focus on Heart Failure and includes opportunities to help develop programs. Advanced Heart Failure training is welcome but not required.

The physician will collaborate with the Cardiology service line to coordinate and deliver high-quality patient care, with an emphasis on clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, strong interpersonal relationships, and community engagement. The Heart Failure program includes a dedicated multidisciplinary team and inpatient rounding unit, and has received ACC/AHA Get With The Guidelines Gold status and Honor Roll recognition. The group participates in numerous Heart Failure clinical trials and pursues new therapies and treatment options.

The schedule is described as flexible, with clinic hours Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and flexible evening and Saturday hours. Typical outpatient volume is 11–22 patients per day, depending on the clinic schedule. Weekend and holiday call is 1:6; there is no night-call expectation, with cardiac nocturnists providing support. The physician rounds daily on inpatients when assigned to the hospital, with an average inpatient volume of 15–20 patients per day. Telehealth visits are offered. The role also includes travel to outreach locations less than one hour from the main campus; travel is required never or rarely.

The practice offers mentorship opportunities in structural transesophageal echocardiography and access to state-of-the-art labs and advanced cardiac imaging, including CT and MRI 4Dflow FFR parametric mapping. Related programs include an internationally recognized Cardio-Oncology Center of Excellence, a nationally recognized Cardio-Metabolic program, and a leading regional cardio genetics program.

Requirements

• Doctorate required.
• Physician license (DR) required upon hire.
• Board certification in the specialty discipline, or eligibility if appropriate, required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required upon hire.
• Board eligibility or board certification in non-invasive cardiology, with a Heart Failure specialization.
• Strong focus on clinical excellence and patient satisfaction.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced training in Heart Failure is welcome but not required.
• Aptitude and interest in programmatic development.
• Interest in mentorship in structural transesophageal echocardiography.

Responsibilities
