About The Position

The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Anesthesiology, is seeking a Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our growing, nationally recognized cardiovascular team. This position offers the opportunity to practice in a high-acuity, tertiary care environment alongside a collaborative team of anesthesiologists, surgeons, intensivists, residents, fellows, and CRNAs dedicated to exceptional patient care, education, and innovation. The successful candidate will provide anesthesia care for a broad spectrum of adult cardiac surgical procedures and advanced cardiovascular interventions while contributing to the department's clinical, educational, and academic missions. Requirements

MD or DO
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology Residency
Completion of a Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship
ABA-certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology
Eligible for medical licensure in Kansas and Missouri

Nice To Haves

Certification in Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography (or eligibility to obtain certification)

Responsibilities

Provide anesthesia care for a broad spectrum of adult cardiac surgical procedures and advanced cardiovascular interventions.
Contribute to the department's clinical, educational, and academic missions.
Utilize advanced perioperative echocardiography in a high-acuity tertiary and quaternary care setting.
Participate in teaching, mentorship, research, and leadership development.
Share in a cardiac call schedule designed to support collaboration and physician well-being.
