About The Position
Essen Health Care is seeking a Physician Assistant with experience or a strong interest in outpatient cardiovascular care to join a growing ambulatory cardiology practice. The PA works closely with cardiologists to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Active PA license in the state where the role is located.
- NCCPA certification.
- Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Nice To Haves
- Outpatient cardiology experience; one or more years preferred, though strong new graduates may be considered depending on training.
- Experience with EPIC or a similar EMR.
- BLS/ACLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including patient histories and physical exams.
- Evaluate and manage patients with cardiac conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and hyperlipidemia.
- Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests, including EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter/event monitors, and labs.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with cardiology physicians.
- Prescribe medications and manage ongoing therapy according to clinical guidelines.
- Educate patients about disease management, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Document clinical encounters accurately in the EMR.
- Coordinate care with referring providers, imaging, and ancillary services.
- Support quality initiatives and clinical protocols within the cardiology service line.
