About The Position

Essen Health Care is seeking a Physician Assistant with experience or a strong interest in outpatient cardiovascular care to join its growing ambulatory cardiology practice. The PA will work closely with cardiologists to provide high-quality cardiovascular care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Essen Health Care is a privately held multispecialty medical group serving vulnerable and underserved residents across New York through more than 50 locations and a range of in-person, in-home, and telehealth services.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Active PA license in the applicable state.
• NCCPA certification.
• Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice To Haves

• Outpatient cardiology experience; one or more years preferred, though strong new graduates may be considered depending on training.
• Experience with EPIC or a similar EMR.
• BLS/ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including patient histories and physical exams.
• Evaluate and manage patients with cardiac conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and hyperlipidemia.
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests, including EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter/event monitors, and laboratory tests.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with cardiology physicians.
• Prescribe medications and manage ongoing therapy according to clinical guidelines.
• Educate patients about disease management, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
• Document clinical encounters accurately in the EMR.
• Coordinate care with referring providers, imaging, and ancillary services.
• Support quality initiatives and clinical protocols within the cardiology service line.
