We are seeking an exceptional Physician Assistant to join our highly specialized team of spine surgeons and eleven elite PAs. This is a highly specialized PA role designed for clinicians who enjoy complex pathology, close collaboration with surgeons, and continuous learning. Physician Assistants at VSI are integral clinical partners who work side-by-side with spine surgeons, across the full continuum of care, including the OR. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- NCCPA certification
- Active Virginia PA license (or eligibility)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and professional maturity

Responsibilities
- Comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning for spine patients in the office
- Interpretation of advanced imaging (X-ray, MRI, CT, nuclear medicine, labs)
- High-level patient education using imaging, models, and individualized counseling
- First-assist responsibilities in complex spinal procedures, including discectomy, disc replacement, spinal fusion, instrumentation, detailed anatomic dissection, and wound closure
- Participation in technologically advanced spine surgery incorporating robotics, augmented reality, and AI-driven planning and execution
- Direct patient communication, including daily follow-up and care coordination
- Medication management with thoughtful, evidence-based prescribing
- Preventative care and education related to musculoskeletal health and osteoporosis
- Active collaboration within a multidisciplinary, high-performing team (spine surgery, regenerative medicine, physiatry, neurology, and anesthesia pain management)
