About The Position

Rebound is seeking a Physician Assistant for their Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department. The ideal candidate will be passionate about patient care, possess excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Rebound is the largest orthopedic and neurosurgical practice in the Portland-Vancouver area, offering a wide range of sub-specialties and serving as team physicians for local collegiate and professional sports teams. The practice is located in Southwest Washington, close to Portland, Oregon, with abundant recreational and cultural opportunities in the region.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Physician's Assistant in Physiatry/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurosurgery, Sports Medicine, and/or Pain Medicine.
  • Previous experience in ordering interventional spine procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree required, MS preferred.
  • Graduate of physician assistant training program that is accredited and approved by CAHEA, CAAHEP, and/or ARC-PA.
  • Current Washington and Oregon PA license.
  • Certified through National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • BLS or ACLS certified.
  • Current DEA License and NPI number is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients and co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to include, but not limited to, examinations, physicals, diagnosis, and documenting patient medical data and health histories.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections and shockwave therapy.
  • Provide acute and chronic care according to protocol. Monitor effective therapy.
  • Administer or order appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests. Interpret and convey test results.
  • Develop and implement appropriate care management plan. Strictly adhere to pre and post op protocols.
  • Educate patients and families about therapeutic regimens, surgery and procedures, pre and post-operative care, and other relevant information. Triage patient phone calls to facilitate patient care delivery.
  • Demonstrate positive and effective written and verbal communication skills with patients, families and co-workers.
  • Document clear, concise and accurate clinical information in the patient record in a timely manner.
  • Maintain, interpret and apply basic clinical practice statistics.
  • Respond to medical emergencies including CPR.
  • Adhere to practice standards and PA code of ethics.
  • Utilize and conduct research/inquiry appropriate to clinical setting.
  • Provide leadership by serving as role model and resource.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to, and enforce, policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
