About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Physician Assistant - Pediatric Emergency Medicine to join their team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center, and North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) has 213 licensed beds. Both facilities are recognized leaders in emergency medicine, trauma surgery, burn care, pediatrics, primary care, and women’s health. Requirements

• Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant
• Current certification issued by the NCCPA
• NRP and PALS certifications

Responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform focused and complete physical examinations.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage pediatric patients presenting with acute medical, surgical, traumatic, and behavioral health conditions.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory studies.
• Perform procedures within approved scope of practice and demonstrated competency.
• Provide procedural assistance during emergency interventions.
• Participate in emergency resuscitations and stabilization of critically ill or injured children.
• Reassess patients throughout their ED stay and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated.
