About The Position

UPMC Hanover is hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to help support the HMG Cardiology Dept. The ideal candidate has about 2 years of APP experience. This role involves contributing to UPMC’s mission of Life Changing Medicine, setting standards for care delivery, and providing patient care activities through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration. The position also focuses on establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve desired patient outcomes. Requirements

  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Current state RN license and CRNP certification are required.
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): National certification, eligible for licensure by Pennsylvania board of nursing, eligible for certification as a CRNP by Pennsylvania state board of nursing.
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Current CPR certification is required.
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Act 33 Clearance will be required.
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Act 73 Clearance will be required.
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Act 34 Clearance required.
  • Physician Assistant (PA): A graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA) is required.
  • Physician Assistant (PA): Current state PA license certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
  • Physician Assistant (PA): Current CPR certification is required.
  • Physician Assistant (PA): Act 33 Clearance will be required.
  • Physician Assistant (PA): Act 73 Clearance will be required.
  • Physician Assistant (PA): Act 34 Clearance required.
  • Senior Level: The successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or a graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA) program is required.
  • Senior Level: Completion of National Certification.
  • ACLS or ITLS or NALS or PALS or ACLS or other certifications listed must meet AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • OAPP: If practicing in an outpatient or other non-inpatient setting, APPs can use one of the certifications above or use a business unit approved certification which is relevant, and value added to the practice setting.

Nice To Haves

  • The ideal candidate has about 2 years of APP experience.
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): BSN, MSN is preferred.
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience is preferred.
  • Physician Assistant (PA): BS or MS candidate is preferred.
  • Physician Assistant (PA): Experience as a physician assistant and/or experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Senior Level: Minimum 3 years of experience or Completion of a post-graduate residency.
  • Senior Level: BSN, MSN preferred for CRNP, BS or MS preferred for PA.
