About The Position
Sutter East Bay Medical Group is hiring a full-time Advanced Practice Clinician (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to practice full-scope Obesity Medicine at its Metabolic Health and Weight Management Clinic in Oakland, California. The clinician will join a multidisciplinary team focused on empathetic, evidence-based care and help develop a new practice, including innovative care pathways such as shared medical appointments and integration of Sutter Health system resources. The role supports patient care for two obesity medicine physicians and one bariatric surgeon. Clinical care includes lifestyle counseling, anti-obesity medication management, and pre- and post-operative care for bariatric surgery patients.
Requirements
- Experience in primary care or obesity medicine.
- Active and unrestricted California medical license.
- Current DEA license before employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide full-scope Obesity Medicine care.
- Support patient care for two obesity medicine physicians and one bariatric surgeon.
- Provide evidence-based lifestyle counseling.
- Manage anti-obesity medications.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for bariatric surgery patients.
- Contribute to developing the practice and innovative care pathways, including shared medical appointments.
