About The Position

We are seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner to join our Comprehensive Cancer Center team. In this role, you will assess the health status and perform clinical examinations and consultations with cancer patients and cancer survivors seeking care. You will be responsible for the assessment of designated patients referred to the infusion center for administering intravenous medication and will manage chemotherapy following established standards and practices. You will work closely with physicians in the Oncology Clinic, caring for patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation as part of their cancer treatment, and troubleshoot the care of patients experiencing side effects from treatments. Our team consists of a collaborative and integrative group with radiation oncologists, palliative care, genetics, mental health, and a survivorship clinic run by an APP. Our Cancer Center APPs work autonomously, but also have a highly collaborative relationship with our physicians to enhance patient care and for continued learning. Our Cancer Center has long-standing partnerships with the Metro Minnesota Community Oncology Research Consortium (a nonprofit research program sponsored by the National Cancer Institute), participating community hospitals and clinics, and with the Cancer Trials Support Unit. As a result of these affiliations, patients receive access to the newest therapies available for cancer treatment, symptom management, and cancer prevention. 36 hours of continuing education are required annually for accreditation. We strive to provide the highest quality, patient-centered care through a team-based approach. This position offers the ability to work with patients from diverse socioeconomic, gender, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. This position holds day hours Monday – Friday only, no after hours or weekend duties, with 36 patient facing hours per week. Attending of cancer care and tumor conferences is expected. Days off for continuing medical education and a business expense account are provided. Requirements

• Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program
• Current license to practice (or ability to obtain license) to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant in the State of Minnesota
• Previous experience as an Oncology APP

Nice To Haves

• Must obtain Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP) within 2 years (24 months) of date of hire.
