About The Position

Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a part-time (0.80 FTE; full benefits) Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation team, supporting our TBI outpatient program. In this role, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals with traumatic brain injuries. You will evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions and formulate differential diagnoses through comprehensive history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing. You will also prescribe medications and make appropriate therapy and specialty referrals, perform comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ medical, functional, and psychosocial status, and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and external agencies to ensure coordinated, high-quality, and continuous patient care. Additionally, you will identify needs of the individual, family or community, and develop individualized plans of care and education. Our TBI Outpatient Program became the first organization in the world to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) as a Concussion Specialty Program for Adolescents & Adults. Our Knapp Rehabilitation Center is an inpatient specialty program serving adolescent and adult patients various conditions that includes but not limited to traumatic brain injury, non-traumatic brain injury, stroke, multiple trauma, spinal cord injury, burn, amputation, other neurological conditions. We offer the ability to work with patients from diverse socioeconomic, gender, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. Hennepin Healthcare is one of the few organizations in the Twin Cities with an Advanced Practice Professional Center dedicated to the growth and support of APPs. Requirements

Current (or eligibility for) license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant in the State of Minnesota

Nice To Haves

Clinical experience in traumatic brain injury, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, or neurorehabilitation.
Prior experience as an APP
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting
Function as both individual performer and team player

Responsibilities
