About The Position

Corewell Health's department of neurological health in Grand Rapids, Michigan offers an excellent full-time opportunity for a physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join their exceptional epilepsy team. As an important member of the epilepsy section, you would be responsible for evaluating new patients as well as following established patients in the practice. The ideal candidate would be passionate about this patient population and have some initial neurology training. This position will join the neurology department's multispecialty clinic on the northeast side of Grand Rapids to offer patient epilepsy care in a suburban setting at 275 Michigan. We are open to both experienced APPs as well as new graduates.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree (for both NP and PA)
  • Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
  • 3 years of relevant experience (for NP)
  • Current, relevant clinical experience (for NP)
  • Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - State of Michigan (for NP)
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) (for NP)
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program (for PA)
  • LIC-Physician Assistant - State of Michigan (for PA)
  • CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (for PA)
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) (for PA)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new patients and follow established patients in the practice.
  • Review patient records, messages, diagnostic results, and history to assess their current health status and develop proper treatment plans.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the care team to effectively communicate results, treatments plans, and give guidance to patients and their caregivers.
  • Communicate with providers from other specialties to collaborate patient care.
  • Document patient records and EHR.
  • Complete billable services such as but not limited to: E-Visits.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives for the Inboxology program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
