About The Position

The Cancer Care Service Line at Corewell Health is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Hematology program. This position will support our growing Hematology practice, seeing patients primarily in the outpatient setting at Lemmen Holton Cancer Pavilion, with cross coverage to our inpatient floor across the street at Butterworth Hospital. The role involves working as an integral part of a multispecialty team approach to patient care, including tumor boards with integrated teams. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, value team-based care, and be intrinsically motivated to learn. Corewell Health's Cancer Program offers a comprehensive approach including Multispecialty Teams, Screening & Prevention, Supportive, Integrative & Palliative Care, Diagnostic & Treatment Services & Clinical Trials, 11 Comprehensive Programs, Specialized Radiation Oncologists, Breast Diagnostic Center, Nurse Navigation, Palliative Care Services, Psychiatric Oncology, and Cancer Rehab.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
  • 3 years of relevant experience
  • Current, relevant clinical experience
  • Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required
  • LIC-Physician Assistant - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working as a Hematology/Oncology Advanced Practice Provider
  • New graduates will also be considered with CV's that demonstrate experience or special interest in oncology.
  • Experience as a Nurse Practitioner

Responsibilities
