About The Position

The Neurology Physician Assistant provides comprehensive neurologic care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings as part of a collaborative neurology team. This position offers a balanced practice with continuity of care through outpatient clinic management and acute inpatient neurological consultation, providing a diverse and rewarding clinical experience.

Requirements

Must be a licensed Physician Assistant in the state of practice.
Board certification as a Physician Assistant.
Experience in neurology is required.
Strong diagnostic and clinical assessment skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Proficiency in electronic medical record systems.

Nice To Haves

Experience with neuroimaging interpretation.
Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of neurological disorders in the outpatient clinic.
Provide inpatient neurology consultations and follow-up care for hospitalized patients.
Perform comprehensive neurological assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor patient progress.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies and neuroimaging, in collaboration with the supervising neurologist.
Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation services, and other multidisciplinary team members.
Educate patients and families regarding neurological conditions, treatment options, medications, and disease management.
Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently within the electronic medical record.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
