About The Position

As a Physician Assistant, your strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to patient-centered care will support the delivery of high-quality neurological care. In this role, you will work with patients at Rochester General Hospital and Unity Hospital, providing hospital follow-up and ongoing post-stroke care.

Requirements

Experience as a Physician Assistant is required
Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, patient-focused approach
Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
BS: Physician Assistant (Required)
PA-C - Certified Physician Assistant - National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
RPA - Registered Physician Assistant - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

Responsibilities

Evaluate and manage patients following hospitalization for acute stroke and other neurological conditions; obtain medical histories and perform physical examinations; assess patient progress and develop and implement treatment plans
Provide post-stroke follow-up and ongoing management, monitor response to treatment, address new or recurring symptoms, and coordinate appropriate diagnostic testing and specialty care
Prescribe medications, provide patient education, and make appropriate referrals in collaboration with the neurology team
Maintain accurate and timely medical records, update patient charts, and complete required clinical documentation
