Physician Assistant - Interventional Radiology-Full Time This role involves making preliminary diagnoses, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing patient care plans. The Physician Assistant will provide health education, assist with emergency treatments and complex procedures, and maintain accurate patient records. A key responsibility includes performing minimally invasive vascular and nonvascular procedures under the supervision of an attending interventional radiologist, such as assisting with port placements, paracentesis, thoracentesis, ultrasound-guided biopsies, and central venous catheter insertions. The role also includes pre-study assessments, post-study follow-up, patient management, and acting as a service educator for staff. The Physician Assistant will coordinate imaging studies and laboratory tests, counsel patients and families, and assist collaborating physicians during procedures. They will also assess potential problems and contraindications for procedures, co-manage high-risk patients, and document all consultations and procedures. Triage of patients via telephone and evaluation for contrast media allergies or dialysis-related issues are also part of the duties. The position requires participation in care conferences, tumor boards, and patient rounds, as well as diagnosing health problems, managing patient care, and prescribing physical therapy. On-call weekend coverage is also assigned.
